Master Thadeu Vieira is a 4 year college graduate in Physical Education with specialization in Psychomotor Education plus 2 years of Law School and he has been practing Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for over 15 years. Professor Vieira is 4th in line under the lineage of Grand Master Helio Gracie, the creator of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and you can be the 5th in this line!

One thing that separates our Martial Arts School from all of the others is that we have a specialized system (curriculum) that we teach. This Jiu-Jitsu system is one of the secrets to our team's success. Most Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (GJJ) Martial Arts schools have no curriculum and basically the instructor teaches whatever may pop into their heads each night for class. We believe in setting short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (GJJ), and then putting a plan in place to reach each of these goals.

PROGRAMS

GRACIEJIU-JITSU is the most effective self-defense instruction in the world by giving students the elements to defend themselves in real life, with no rules, no points, and no time limits. We teach jiu-jitsu as a method of realistic self-defense and personal development and not as a tournament sport. Our system has three main objectives. First, the system teaches the most powerful self defense method in the world as proven in the original Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Second, our system constitutes one of the most complete forms of exercise in existence. And third, it represents an incalculable moral and educational value. The class also serves as a foundation for all students of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Lessons are focused on teaching the principles of the art, including self-defense, basic techniques, and to commit the core movements of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to muscle memory. When it comes down to competition and performance, BRAZILIANJIU-JITSU is for the student who is interested in competing in the sport, or if the student is just interested in testing his knowledge in a more practical setting, our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition class offers world-class instruction. You will train among Local and International champions and the instructors pass on their knowledge in a structured setting, which includes medium-intensity sparring to condition the body. We follow the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation rules and standards of sport competition with points, technical restrictions, referee, etc to make sure everyone trains in a safe environment.

PARENTCHILD class is our unique program at the BJJ Academy. Class is held once a week. This program is designed for a sharing experience between parent and child which creates a parental bond that will last for years. Can be mother/son, mother/daughter, father/daughter or father/son. Parents will have a great workout and a better understanding of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, which leads to better student technical retention and allow the parent to coach and participate much more on the child's progress.
